Bio:
Jody E Powell, a Magna Cum Laude graduate, achieved two Master's Degrees in business: an MBA and an MIB (Masters in International Business). Since 1992, Jody has been on the board of directors for both the Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers (FAMB), now (FAMP), the Florida Association of Mortgage Professionals, and the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB). Since 1994, she has owned her own Mortgage Brokerage business, J E Powell Mortgage, formerly J E Powell Mortgage & Trust Inc. She has held a Real Estate License since 1982 and an Insurance Broker License in Life, Health, & Annuities since 2001.
Her mission is to help people in the most important areas of their life:
1) Home Ownership – roof over their head,
2) Protection of Family through Insurance Needs,
3) Affordable Health Care – Protection for health needs, and
4) Retirement Protection – Preferably Tax-Free Income for Life, so people do not outlive their money (Author of The Best Selling Book “Safe Money” - which she now gives to clients in E-Book format for Free). Jody has lobbied in Washington D.C. and Tallahassee for moratorium bills in the Mortgage Industry to help people afford homes in our communities.
She has worked with many community programs to assist First-Time HomeBuyers, Lower Income Families, Homes in Rural Development Areas, Our Veterans for lower closing costs and down payments, and getting excellent credit individuals the lowest interest rates based on credit scores, and people looking for Income producing properties. Jody was given recognition as one of three in the country for excellence in Commercial Lending. Every year, Jody keeps on top of the industry changes in laws and regulations and any new lender niches, by attending the Florida Association of Mortgage Professionals Continuing Education, Convention & Trade Show in Orlando, where she is always well received by her fellow Industry Professionals and Lenders. With over 40+ years of experience in the housing industry and working with wholesale lenders for lower interest rates, Jody has diligently assisted many to attain financing and maintains respect from the lenders and those in the industry.
